City & Arsenal Faulter As Liverpool Go Top! Premier League Previews, Stats & Insights.

Another win for Liverpool sees them go back to top of the Premier League heading into matchweek eleven after coming from a goal down at home to Brighton with goals from Coady Gakpo and Mohammed Salah to secure a 2-1 victory.

This was Liverpools eighth win of the season which now puts them two points ahead of Manchester City in second, who suffered a shock defeat away to Bournemouth 2-1. This is the second time Bournemouth have won against the odds after also beating Arsenal earlier in the season.

Arsenal suffered another defeat away to Newcastle 1-0 and now drop down to fifth and some pundits believe the league title may already be out of reach for the Gunners even at this early stage of the season.

Nottingham Forest continue an unbelievable run as they now occupy third as they went on to beat West Ham 3-0 and Chelsea sit in fourth after a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

At the bottom Southampton finally got a win as they beat Everton by a goal to nil but worrys continue for Wolves as they remain bottom of the league still without a win as they could only manage a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

Matchweek eleven will see league leaders Liverpool face Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday evening 20:00 KO (UK time), an intruiging match and Arne Slots red men will be ready to go again welcoming a Villa side who lost heavily away to Spurs 4-1 last weekend.

Manchester City travel to Brighton in what may be another tricky away trip at 17:30 KO, while Brentford play Bournemouth, Crystal Palce face Fulham, West Ham welcome Everton and there is a big battle at the bottom as Wolves host Southampton all at 15:00 KO.

A huge game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday at 16:30 will see Chelsea v Arsenal but earlier at 14:00 there is three games including Manchester United v Leicester, high flying Nottingham Forest v Newcastle and Tottenham v Ipswich. A big weekend ahead for all clubs before we head into another International break.

Brentford vs Bournemouth

Pre-Match Summary

Bournemouth come here in fine form after a shock win at home over Manchester City last time out, this result comes only two weeks after also beating Arsenal by the same scoreline, however both those wins came at home and Brentford despite not being in the best form right now, will take positives from some of their perfomances and history is also on their side in this fixture as they have not lost at home to the Cherrys since 2005.

Statistical Insights:

Crystal Palace vs Fulham

Pre-Match Summary

Two late goals secured the comeback for Fulham on Monday night as they beat Brenford 2-1 which pleased manager Marco Silva. That being said Fulhams away form has been poor and they have only won once on the road this season. Palace have struggled and sit only one place above the relegation zone, they will be hoping to make it back to back home wins after beating Spurs two weeks ago.

Statistical Insights:

West Ham United vs Everton

Pre-Match Summary

West Ham have only won twice in the last eight league games with 4L and 2D, most recently a 3-0 defeat to Nottigham Forest, fans are running out of patience with manager Lopetegui. Everton have not been much better and have only won twice themselves all season. Three points is huge as a win for Everton would see them leapfrog their hosts, but a home win would put some breathing space between the Hammes and the drop zone.

Statistical Insights:

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Southampton

Pre-Match Summary

The leagues two bottom teams teams go head to head and after a big win for Saints last weekend only a point now seperates these two teams at the bottom. Wolves continue to struggle and whats worse is there inability to defend, they have conceded the most goals in the league (27) and unless this changes soon, it is hard to see a way out for them.

Statistical Insights:

Brighton vs Manchester City

Pre-Match Summary

Another tricky away fixture for City who come here having lost to Bournemouth and also suffered a huge defeat away to Sporting Lisbon 4-1 in the Champions League mid week. City also lost to Spurs in the EFL cup which makes this three loses in a row. Brighton have lost twice to Liverpool in the last two games once in the league and once in the EFL cup so will be lacking a bit of confidence and todays opponents do not come much tougher.

Statistical Insights:

Liverpool vs Aston Villa

Pre-Match Summary

Liverpool continue to go from strength to strength and now sit top of the league. A mid week champions league win against Leverkusen 4-0 now makes it 6 stright home wins, a stat Villa will be well aware of and will come here no doubt with a plan from manager Unai Emery. Villa have been good this season allthough they have now not won in four games in all competitions including the EFL cup and a Champions League defeat away to Brugge midweek.

Statistical Insights:

Manchester United vs Leicester

Pre-Match Summary

Man Utd will look forward to a new regime under new appointed manager Ruben Amorim, however it is interm boss Rudd Van Nistelrooy who will be in charge for this one. United earned a good draw v Chelsea last weekend and on paper have an easier task today. Leicester visit Old Trafford again after losing 5-2 here a few weeks ago in the EFL cup and will not be wanting a repeat of that result.

Statistical Insights:

Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle

Pre-Match Summary

Forest are flying high and continue to impress and shock as they now sit in third place, something almost no one would have predicted at the beginning of the season. They have lost only once at home and welcome an out of sorts Newcastle team who have slipped in the league. The visitors did manage a big win last week against Arsenal to slightly turn the recent poor run of form and will hope to kick on again now.

Statistical Insights:

Tottenham Hotspur vs Ipswich

Pre-Match Summary

Ipswich as well as Wolves are the only other team still yet to win a game this season and it looks set to remain that way with a tough away trip to Spurs. They remian in the bottom three and its hard to see where that first win is coming from. Spurs have shown inconsistencies this season but a 4-1 thrashing of Aston Villa last week has the Londoners smiling again.

Statistical Insights:

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Pre-Match Summary

The weekends stand out clash, both teams have equal records this season with the same number of wins losses draws and points, only seperated on goal difference, Chelsea (4th) are in the better recent form all though in recent years it is Arsenal (5th) who have the uper hand in H2Hs including a 5-0 win last season. This should be a firery game with plenty of action. Expect a fast pace with plenty of goal opportunities as well as some good battles and tackles.
