2025/26 English Premier League fixtures released: Manchester United vs Arsenal showdown headlines opening weekend

The 2025/26 English Premier League season is set to kick off on Friday, 15 August 2025, with a blockbuster clash between Manchester United and Arsenal headlining the opening weekend.

Defending champions Liverpool will raise the curtain on the new campaign as they host AFC Bournemouth on Friday night.

This marks Manchester United’s first full new season under manager Ruben Amorim, as they aim to rebound from last season’s disappointing 15th-place finish.

After their high-stakes opener against Arsenal, the Red Devils will face Fulham in Matchweek 2, followed by a clash with newly promoted Burnley.

The first 2025/26 English Premier League Manchester derby against Manchester City looms on Saturday, 13 September, before a daunting encounter with Chelsea, the reigning Conference League champions, on 20 September.

Arsenal, perennial title contenders after finishing as runners-up in four of the last five seasons, will look to mount another charge for glory.

Following their showdown with United, the Gunners will take on Leeds United, returning to the top flight after promotion, before locking horns with Liverpool on 30 August.

Their early-season gauntlet continues with a trip to Nottingham Forest, followed by a pivotal clash against Manchester City, who seek to reclaim their dominance after a turbulent campaign.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur, fresh off their Europa League triumph and eyeing a Champions League push, begin their 2025/26 English Premier League campaign under new boss Thomas Frank against Burnley.

Meanwhile, Chelsea open their 2025/26 English Premier League season at home to FA Cup Holders Crystal Palace.

Aston Villa host Newcastle United in the early kickoff on Saturday, 16 August, while Sunderland mark their Premier League return with a home fixture against West Ham United.
