History of EPL
The English Premier League (EPL) was formed in 1992 as the top tier of English football. It emerged when First Division clubs broke away to gain more control and profits, especially from TV rights. The league initially had 22 clubs, but later reduced the number to 20. Around 2007, EPL was called the Barclays Premier League due to its partnership with the bank.
