Most Premier League titles
Manchester United have won more Premier League titles than any other club, with 13. All 13 came under Sir Alex Ferguson, beginning in 1992/93 and ending with the 2012/13 title.
Manchester City hold the record for the longest title-winning streak. They won four in a row from 2020/21 through 2023/24. City also own the biggest title-winning margin, finishing 19 points clear of Manchester United in 2017/18.
The 100-point season
Manchester City became the first and, so far, only Premier League team to reach 100 points when they won the 2017/18 title. Pep Guardiola’s side also set several other records during that campaign:
- 32 wins
- 106 league goals
- A goal difference of +79
- A 19-point winning margin
Liverpool matched the 32-win record in 2019/20, while City also recorded 32 victories in 2018/19. No team has gone beyond 100 points.
Arsenal’s Invincibles and the unbeaten record
Arsenal remain the only club to complete a Premier League season without defeat. Arsene Wenger’s side finished 2003/04 with 26 wins and 12 draws from 38 matches.
That season sat inside a 49-match unbeaten league run that stretched from May 2003 to October 2004. It is still the longest unbeaten sequence in Premier League history.
Best defensive records
Chelsea’s 2004/05 title-winning side set the standard for a full Premier League season. Jose Mourinho’s team conceded only 15 goals and recorded 25 team clean sheets, both competition records.
Petr Cech kept 24 of those clean sheets himself. Across his Premier League career with Chelsea and Arsenal, he finished with 202 clean sheets, the most by any goalkeeper.
Premier League top scorers
Alan Shearer remains the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer with 260 goals for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United. Harry Kane is second on 213, while Wayne Rooney is third on 208.
| Player | Premier League goals |
| Alan Shearer | 260 |
| Harry Kane | 213 |
| Wayne Rooney | 208 |
| Mohamed Salah | 193 |
| Andy Cole | 187 |
Erling Haaland holds the single-season scoring record. He scored 36 Premier League goals for Manchester City in 2022/23, breaking the previous 38-match record of 32 set by Mohamed Salah in 2017/18.
Most Premier League appearances
James Milner retired in June 2026 as the Premier League’s record appearance-maker. He played 658 matches across 24 seasons for Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Milner passed Gareth Barry’s previous record during the 2025/26 season. The leading appearance totals are:
| Player | Appearances |
| James Milner | 658 |
| Gareth Barry | 653 |
| Ryan Giggs | 632 |
| Frank Lampard | 609 |
| David James | 572 |
Premier League assists records
Ryan Giggs remains the Premier League’s all-time assist leader with 162. His record was built across 632 league appearances for Manchester United.
The single-season record changed in 2025/26. Bruno Fernandes produced 21 assists for Manchester United, moving past the previous high of 20 shared by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
The overall record for combined goals and assists in a Premier League season is 47. Andy Cole recorded 34 goals and 13 assists across 42 matches for Newcastle United in 1993/94, while Alan Shearer registered the same combination for Blackburn Rovers in 1994/95. Mohamed Salah matched the overall record in a 38-match season for Liverpool in 2024/25, producing 29 goals and 18 assists.

Conclusion
Premier League records show how difficult it is to dominate the competition over one season, several years or an entire career. Manchester United still lead the title count, Manchester City remain the only 100-point team, Arsenal own the unbeaten season, Alan Shearer leads the scoring chart and James Milner now sits top of the appearance list.
The record book also continues to move. Bruno Fernandes set a new single-season assist mark in 2025/26, while Max Dowman became the competition’s youngest goalscorer in March 2026. Those newer records are why an evergreen Premier League records page needs regular checks rather than being treated as a static history article.
