BUNDESLIGA BETTING PREVIEW

It’s the weekend that football fans have been counting down to as the German Bundesliga resumes for the first time since March following the Covid-19 outbreak. As usual, it’s Bayern Munich that head into the final stretch of the season leading the way, but a number of hungry teams are breathing down their neck. SportPesa is delighted to see elite football returning and here we take a closer look at a number of this weekend’s fixtures.

Borussia Dortmund v Schalke

The Revierderby is quite a fixture to get German football back underway as Borussia Dortmund welcome Schalke in what promises to be an intriguing encounter. Dortmund have been scoring freely all season with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland in stunning form and they’ll fancy their chances of adding to their impressive goal tally this season against an inconsistent Schalke side.

The Royal Blues will need to rediscover their scoring touch if they’re to take anything from the Westfalenstadion. After only registering one goal in their last 367 minutes of action, Schalke will find it hard to break down a well-structured Dortmund defence. David Wagner is an impressive coach, but the Schalke boss may be an unhappy man come Saturday teatime.

RB Leipzig v Freiburg

Supporters of Premier League clubs will be keeping a keen eye on Timo Werner as the German forward continues to be linked to a number of English sides. Werner has been a revelation for Leipzig since joining in 2016, and he’ll be aiming to down Freiburg on Saturday afternoon as they make the journey to the Red Bull Arena.

Freiburg head into the fixture as one of the worst travellers in German football with no wins in their last 10 away games. They often find some of their best form against Saturday’s opponents, but they are without a victory on their last three visits to Leipzig. Red Bull’s journey to the summit of German football has been a remarkable ride considering they were only formed in 2009. There’s a belief within the club that they can catch glory this season and they’ll do their chances no harm this weekend.

Union Berlin v Bayern Munich

Union Berlin’s midtable position might just save their Bundesliga status for this season, but they head into this weekend’s fixture against Bayern Munich in awful form and their supporters must be wary about what may take place this weekend. Bayern, following an indifferent start, have been sensational since the turn of the year and they top the Bundesliga table by four points with 31 points from 33 available in their last 11 games.

In contrast, Union are a team enduring a difficult period and they welcome the German giants after conceding at least three goals in four of their last eight fixtures. Bayern are fighting on several fronts this season and like the true champions they are, they’re hitting form at a vital time at both home and in Europe. This could be a long day for Union and Bayern’s star-studded team featuring the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Kingsley Coman, and Thomas Muller will fancy some goals.

SportPesa Prediction: Bayern Munich to win either 4-0, 5-0, or 6-0. BET HERE
