BOURNEMOUTH v TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR: PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTION

Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur team news.

Callum Wilson returns for Bournemouth following a suspension, but Eddie Howe could be without injured quartet Steve Cook, Simon Francis, Chris Mepham and Jack Simpson.

Spurs will be missing suspended Eric Dier, and Dele Alli may miss out due to a hamstring strain. Juan Foyth and Japhet Tanganga are sidelined.

Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur head-to-head.

Bournemouth have just one win against Spurs in the Premier League. The Cherries beat Tottenham Hotspur at home last season, which was just the second time in history they had got the better of the North London side, following an FA Cup win back in 1957.

Spurs won the reverse fixture 3-2 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in November, conceding as many goals to the Cherries in that 90 minutes as they had in the previous seven meetings combined.

Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur current form.

Bournemouth are on a terrible run of form, which has led them down a one-way road to relegation. Five consecutive losses is bad enough, but it’s the manner of the defeats that sounds the alarm bells. Eddie Howe’s side’s last home game was a 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United, which accounts for 23% of the away goals that the Magpies have scored all season.

Spurs haven’t set the world alight since returning to action. A frustrating 1-1 draw with Manchester United was followed by a routine London derby win over West Ham, before a disappointing defeat to Sheffield United was followed by a scrappy win over Everton.

Jose Mourinho’s side have won just three of their last 22 away games in the Premier League, so this could provide Bournemouth an opportunity.

Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur match prediction.

The return of Callum Wilson will be a huge lift for Bournemouth this evening, but scoring goals hasn’t been the Cherries’ biggest problem. Having conceded nine goals in their last two games, and averaging three goals conceded per match since the restart, Bournemouth’s defending has been atrocious.

Spurs have been far from perfect recently, but they can move above Arsenal with a win this evening and get a little closer to the top six as the season draws to a close. A 1-2 Spurs win seems good value.

Best bet for Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Kane has only played twice for Spurs at The Vitality Stadium, scoring a hat-trick on his first appearance before picking up an injury half an hour into his latest appearance two seasons later. The England captain therefore averages a goal every 40 minutes away to Bournemouth. Kane has two goals in his last three games and looks to be in good shape following a long lay-off with injury. Back Harry Kane to score anytime this evening.
