Three Bets to Consider: UEFA Champions League

The 2020/21 football season may still be in its infancy, but we have already seen a number of surprising results. We’ve scanned through tonight’s UEFA Champions League fixtures to pick out three big-priced tips for you to place at SportPesa.com…

RB Leipzig to beat Manchester United (3.04)

Let’s get started with a simple one, shall we? Manchester United are currently sitting in 15th position in the Premier League. Perhaps they had a tough schedule of opening fixtures?

Well, maybe… but they have lost all of their points at home so far in the Premier League – with a trio of London sides all leaving Old Trafford with smiles on their faces. First there was the victorious Crystal Palace (1-3), then Tottenham Hotspur took it to a different level with a 1-6 win, before one of the Premier League’s worst-ever goalless draws with Chelsea at the weekend.

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig are top of Bundesliga. Julian Nagelsmann’s side made it all the way to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League last season – and that semi-final defeat to PSG was the last time that RB Leipzig lost a game in any competition.

Manchester United’s away win in Paris last week was to a different calibre to the eleven that made it to last season’s final. The 3.04 for RB Leipzig to win at Old Trafford seems like a huge price, when lesser sides have already been victorious at the Theatre of Dreams this season.

Chelsea not to win at FK Krasnodar (Krasnodar double chance at 2.80)

Frank Lampard – albeit secretly – would have been happy with his side’s draw against Europa League champions Sevilla when their Group E campaign got underway last week.

However, that goalless draw means that the Blues have now won just one of their last five games in all competitions going into tonight’s game at Krasnodar.

Chelsea are bang average this season. Tenth in the Premier League. A lot of money was invested into Lampard’s squad over the summer, but there are not many signs of a return on that investment right now.

FK Krasnodar were meant to be the whipping boys of Group E. Europa League champions Sevilla and former UEFA Champions League holders Chelsea were widely expected a rite of passage into the knockout phase, and if one slipped, then Rennes would be there to pounce…

Ligue 1 pacesetters Rennes were pegged back by Krasnodar in France last week, and on their own turf 2.80 seems too good a price for them to deny toothless Chelsea a victory on Wednesday night.

Jenga Bet: Sevilla to beat Rennes 1-0 with Lucas Ocampos scoring (17.32)

This one is slightly longer in price… but Sevilla is the same team that cantered towards the UEFA Europa League trophy last season.

Tonight, a Rennes team – that looks to have completely derailed in Ligue 1 over the past couple of weeks – enters Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

Sevilla have struggled to get going this season, and are due a goal having gone three games without finding the back of the net in all competitions.

However, the six-time Europa League champions have a good habit of turning it on in Europe.

Julen Lopetegui rested a number of key first-team players ahead of Saturday’s surprise 1-0 defeat to Eibar, including Luuk de Jong, Suso and Lucas Ocampos, who were all introduced from the bench in attempt to salvage a point.

Ocampos has scored each of his last six spot kicks for the La Liga side, and was on the scoresheet for Sevilla 14 times last season. In what looks to be a game of tight margins, the Argentina international could prove to be the difference tonight.
