Crystal Palace v Newcastle United – Premier League Prediction

A busy week of football continues with a Friday night tussle between Crystal Palace and Newcastle United at Selhurst Park.

Both sides come into this game having struggled to find consistency in the Premier League so far this season after encouraging starts to their campaigns.

Roy Hodgson’s Palace have just two wins in their past seven Premier League games, whilst former Eagles Boss Steve Bruce has seen his Newcastle side lost three of their last five in the top flight.

The most worrying stat for the home side, is the fact that they have lost 14 of the last 16 Premier League games without Wilfried Zaha, and their talismanic forward will again sit out on Friday night, alongside captain Luka Milivojevic.

The South London side are also yet to win in the top flight on a Friday, despite 12 previous attempts.

The outlook for Newcastle is a little more promising. Callum Wilson looks set to return from injury, with Matt Richie and Jonjo Shelvey also in contention for returns.

Jamaal Lascelles and Ryan Fraser both look set to miss out, however.

Wilson has scored six of the Magpies’ ten league goals this season, so Bruce will be hopeful to add to the solitary away win they have managed in their last seven Premier League trips.

Roy Hodgson has lost just one of the nine league games he has had when facing Steve Bruce as a manager, but with Palace missing key players at the same time that Newcastle get theirs back, we could see an away win in Friday’s gameweek ten curtain raiser.
