WEDNESDAY ‘S BETTING PREDICTIONS

Portugal vs France

The biggest loser in game week two were the defending champions Portugal. They were thrashed by Germany and France’s result means none of their stars will be rested for this clash.

The match in Budapest is a repeat of the 2016 which saw Portugal edge the French for the title. Since then, France went on to claim the biggest international trophy which sets up this clash perfectly.

The big news for France is that Ousmane Dembele has been ruled out of the rest of the competition. That heaps further pressure on Karim Benzema, who is yet to score in three European Championships (eight matches).

Before Portugal’s Euro 2016 win, France had won ten successive matches between the sides and so historically they will have the advantage.

France defender Benjamin Pavard is a major fitness doubt. Beyond that and the Dembele news, neither side has any fresh injury concerns.

It’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernado Silva and Bruno Fernandes against Kylain Mbappe, Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante. Mouth-watering!

Germany vs Hungary

The Germans bounced back from their opening defeat with a 4-2 win over Portugal. Now, they must see off surprise challengers Hungary to advance to the next phase.

The last time these sides met was 2016 where Germany won 2-0 to stretch their historical lead to 13 wins and 10 draws from 33 matches.

Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is expected to be fit while Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann and RB Leipzig right-back Lukas Klostermann will likely sit out for Germany.

Hungary are unlikely to have Mainz striker Adam Szalai available but it will be their defensive lineup that will be most severely tested following. theGermans rampant display against Portugal.
