SPAIN OUT TO BOOST EURO 2024 HOPES AGAINST CYPRUS – PREDICTION

Fresh from hammering Georgia 7-1 last week, 2010 FIFA World Cup winners Spain will be high on confidence when they face Cyprus in the Euro 2024 qualifiers on Tuesday night at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.

La Roja will be seeking to finish this round of qualifying fixtures with a win they close the gap on leaders Scotland.

Currently, the Luis de la Fuente-coached side sit in second place on the log on 6 points, nine behind table-topping Scotland who have played two games extra.

But with Norway and Georgia sitting just two points behind them in group A standings, the Spaniards have no more room for error with only the top two teams getting automatic tickets to the Euro 2024 tournament.

The team will be looking to build on the thrashing over Georgia where the score line would have given them the much-needed confidence that might have been lacking following their loss to Scotland.

Cyprus on the other hand have a herculean task when they take on the European giants.

The European minnows currently sit at the bottom of the pile having lost all four of their games and are staring at yet another qualification round where they will not qualify for a major finals, something they have never done in their history.

Last week, Scotland beat them 3-0 and cemented their place at the top of Group A and will need nothing short of a dogged performance to cause an upset.
