The Premier League returns this weekend after another international break passes by and some teams will be keen to get going again and continue the momentum prior to the break while others will have welcomed the break to re group and return hoping to kick start there poor starts.

We begin at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with an early 12:30 kick off (UK time) as fellow Londoners West Ham visit hoping they can pick up where they left off before the Internationals as they beat Ipswich by 4 goals to 1.

Spurs meanwhile will have had plenty of time to think about what went wrong in their previous match v Brighton after losing the game 3-2, after being in the lead 2-0 at half time. This is sure to be a tasty clash and both will be all out for a winning return.

The action continues with six other fixtures including Fulham v Aston Villa, Ipwich v Everton, Manchester United v Brentford, Newcastle v Brighton and Southampton v Leicester which all kick off at 15:00.

Saturdays evening fixture sees Arsenal travel to the South Coast to take on Bournemouth at 17:30.

Into Sunday and the league leaders Liverpool have a tough game against in form Chelsea at Anfield at 16:30, and Manchester City play bottom of the league Wolves at 14:00 who remain without a win and on 1 point.

Finally Monday night is Nottingham Forest who are enjoying this season so far with only 1 defeat from 7, v struggling Crystal Palace who are one of 4 teams still looking for that first win of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United

Pre-Match Summary

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou looked rather bemused to say the least as he watched his side throw away a 2 nil lead in the previous match away to Brighton going on to lose the game 3-2. Perhaps the international break came at a good time for Spurs to re group, while West Ham come here having won 4-1 v Ipswich and will be confident going into this.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Spurs are favouirites for this however do not rule out a West Ham win, as last season this fixtures seen the Hammers take the points with a 1-2 win.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Historically this is a fixture with plenty of goals and over 2.5 is likley again here.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes, both teams to score has a good chance given both teams attcking options.

Fulham vs Aston Villa

Pre-Match Summary

Both teams come into this in excellent form and despite losing 3-2 to Manchester City last time out Fulham had there chances and will feel they should of had more from the match. Villa come here having only lost 1 game all season to (Arsenal) and would love for this hot streak to continue. A win could see them move into 4th place.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: A tough game to call, two good teams both in form, perhaps the points will be shared?
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Its easy to see this game having over 2.5 goals as both teams are capable of creating lots of chances.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes, with good attacking styles and in form teams its a strong chance.

Ipswich vs Everton

Pre-Match Summary

Allthough still without a win, Ipswich have proven hard to beat and have drawn 4 games so will be hoping to turn draws into wins as they welcome Everton, who had a slow start but seem to be finding a bit of form and have had a mini unbeaten run in the last 3 games with 2 draws and 1 win which has seen them move out of the bottom 3 into 16th 1 point and 1 position ahead of todays opponents.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: This is another difficult match to call and with Ipswich having drawn 4 of the last 5 and Everton 2 of the last 3, this may end up all square at the final whistle.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Unlikley to see over 2.5 goals this may be a tight game with few chances.
  • Both Teams to Score: Possible, neither team has a solid defence so always vulnerable of conceding goals, its a matter of wheater the strikers are up to the task.

Manchester United vs Brentford

Pre-Match Summary

Doubt remains about Ten Hag’s future as Manchester United manager and he will be desperate for 3 points today, as his job will be further under scruitiny if they dont win. The hosts have scored only 5 goals all season and its hard to see where goals are going to come from. Brentford on the other hand are scoring plenty including 5 in there last match v Wolves, allthough they have conceded the same amount as they have scored (13), So will need to tighten up defensivley if they want to climb the table.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: United have been poor this season so far and its not a given they will turn that around soon, an Away win could be the way to go in this one.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 2.5 is possible, despite United’s poor form in front of goal, at home they can be dangerous when they want to be, Brentfords form of scored 13 and conceded 13 also indicateds there may be goals.
  • Both Teams to Score: Likely, this could be an open game and both teams like to go forward and attack.

Newcastle United vs Brighton

Pre-Match Summary

Only seperated by goal differnce with exactly the same form of W3 D3 and L1, 6th place Brighton come here after after being 2-0 down at HT, they turned the game on its head and won 3-2 v Spurs last time out, while Newcastle 7th struggled to score against Everton in a 0-0 draw and will be looking to get back to winning ways at home.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Newcastle are unbeaten at home and have made St James’s Park a tough place for opponents to take points. Home win looks a strong possiblity.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 2.5 is possible, free flowing Brighton score and concede goals most weeks, and Newcastle are also have plenty of attacking strenghts.
  • Both Teams to Score: Likely, both sides play open football and will look to punish each other with every attack.

Southampton vs Leicester

Pre-Match Summary

Two promoted sides go head to head with Saints sitting only 1 place off the bottom of the table by goal difference only, and having not won a game it is not looking good and to add to the misery they have scored the least goals in the league netting only 4 times. Leicester had a poor start themselves but seem to have turned it slightly and look as though they could kick on with this form.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Away win is a favourable selection as Leicester seem to have more of an attacking threat and Southampton simply are not not scoring goals and have not kept a clean sheet all season, a dangerous combination in any level of football.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 2.5 is not a likely outcome given the home sides poor form in front of goal, Leicester are capable but this may be a tight game.
  • Both Teams to Score: Sligh chance, Saints are finding goals difficult to come by however at home theres a chance with the home fans behind them.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

Pre-Match Summary

Unbeaten Arsenal will be wanting that form to continue and a win here would see them go top of the league, at least up until Sunday before Liverpool and Manchester City play. The Gunners have looked in excellent form and do still remain favouirtes to challenge City for the title. Bournemouth have had a bit of a mixed opening to the season with 2W 2D and 3L. Todays visitors will pose a tough test.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: an Away win is likely as Arsenal will look to make this count and playing before City and Liverpool could put pressure on them two if they win here.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 2.5 is not a likely outcome, Arsenal always pose a threat and can score at will, Bournemouth themselves also have dangerous options in attack.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes. Bournemouth being at home will not sit back and can certainly make the home advantage count, but Arsenal may just prove a bit too strong in terms of getting the win.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Manchester City

Pre-Match Summary

Bottom of the league Wolves could not have asked for a tougher fixture returning from the international break, they have picked up 1 point so far and this may not change after todays game as Manchester City will be looking to show no mercy after slipping to 2nd behind Liverpool they will be eager to take the top spot back, furthermore City have won the last 7 head to head meetings.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Wolves will need to pull off something special here to see anything other than an Away win.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 2.5 is likely, Wolves have conceded the most goals in the league so far (21) and City are the leagues top scorers with (17). 10 of which have be scored by Earling Haaland.
  • Both Teams to Score: Not likely. This could result in a dominant performance from City and its hard to see Wolves getting much joy in this one.

Liverpool vs Chelsea

Pre-Match Summary

Always a feisty clash and this one is no different. Liverpool currently top of the league have settled in no time under new manager Arne Slot winning all but 1 of their games so far, whats more impressive is that they have conceded only 2 goals in the opening 7 games. The visitors come here looking like the Chelsea of old and wil be right up for this one. A win for Chelsea would see them close the gap on Liverpool to just 1 point.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: A tight game is expected however Liverpool are favouirtes to win, but dont be so sure as Chelsea will not make it easy.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Possible there will be goals due to both teams abilities in front of goal, but this may be tight and a bit of a midfield battle.
  • Both Teams to Score: Possibly. It would not be a suprise if both teams score but with two closely matched teams and strong defenses, it may not be a high scoring game.

Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace

Pre-Match Summary

Another team without a win Palace, will be looking over there shoulder as they sit in the bottom 3. It has been a poor start for Palace and after loosing key players in the summer, maybe the signs are beginning to show they could be in for a long season. Forest however have been in top form and are currently in the top half, they will be looking to maintain this good run with another home win.

Statistical Insights:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Likely Home win. Forests best form has actullay been away from home this season but they look to be stronger in all areas to take the win here.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Not a fixture that historically is full of goals and this one may be decided again by a single goal or two.
  • Both Teams to Score: Not likely. Could be a tight game with little attacking opportunities.

This weeks TOP BET:
Tottenham v West Ham – Over 2.5 goals
Fulham v Aston Villa – Over 2.5 goals
