History of Manchester City W.F.C.

Manchester City W.F.C. began in 1988 as a community project linked to the men’s team and slowly grew through the English women’s football pyramid. The club won early regional titles in the late 1990s and early 2000s before rising to national-level competitions. A major turning point came in 2014 when the team joined the FA Women’s Super League and became fully professional. City Women FC reached new heights in 2016, winning the league title unbeaten and conceding only a few goals during the campaign.  Since then, the team has remained one of England’s strongest sides, adding multiple Women’s FA Cups and League Cups while regularly competing near the top of the WSL.

Kits and stadium

Manchester City Women’s kits are produced by Puma. Their 2025/26 season collection includes a sky-blue home shirt with a white sash that reflects Man City’s historic designs and the club’s long identity. The team plays its home matches at Joie Stadium, a purpose-built ground inside the Etihad Campus with a capacity of 7,000. Since 2023, the stadium has carried its current name through a partnership with Joie, becoming one of the first venues in the FA Women’s Super League to secure a dedicated naming-rights sponsor.
