Atalanta vs Venezia: Serie A Preview, Team News & H2H

Atalanta vs Venezia takes place on Monday, 12 October 2026, in Serie A Matchday 6 at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo. Kick-off is at 18:30 CEST (16:30 UTC), with both teams looking to change difficult recent league runs.

The Italian Serie A is set to deliver another important fixture as Atalanta host Venezia. Atalanta opened the season with two wins but have since lost three league matches in a row, while Venezia are still searching for their first point after five defeats.

Atalanta are now coached by Maurizio Sarri. His 23-man squad for the fixture includes Gianluca Scamacca, Charles De Ketelaere, Giacomo Raspadori, Ederson, Franck Kessie, Mario Pasalic, Lazar Samardzic and Giorgio Scalvini.

The current squad gives Atalanta several attacking and midfield combinations, but the immediate objective is to respond after defeats to Roma, Cagliari and Juventus.

Giovanni Stroppa said the international break helped Venezia recover players and work with a healthier group before the trip to Bergamo.

The travelling squad includes attacking options such as Akor Adams, Albion Rrahmani, John Yeboah, Antonio Fernandez and Lion Lauberbach, with Kike Perez, Toma Basic and Simon Sohm among the midfield choices.

Confirmed line-ups, live scores and match events can be followed on SP Score once the teams are released.

Atalanta began the league season with victories over Sassuolo and Bologna before losing three consecutive matches against Roma, Cagliari and Juventus.

Venezia have had an even more difficult start after promotion. They have lost all five opening Serie A matches against Lecce, Milan, Frosinone, Fiorentina and Lazio, scoring four goals and conceding 13.

Atalanta have the stronger recent head-to-head record and are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Venezia in all competitions, recording four wins and one draw.

The latest meeting at this venue finished 0-0 in Serie A in March 2025. Across previous competitive meetings in Bergamo, Atalanta have also held the stronger historical record.

Atalanta’s attacking options now look different from the older Gasperini-era squad referenced in the draft. Scamacca can provide a central reference, while De Ketelaere, Raspadori, Samardzic and Pasalic give Sarri several creative combinations around the final third.

Venezia’s challenge is to turn improved squad availability into a more stable performance after five straight defeats. Stroppa can choose between several forwards, including Adams and Rrahmani, while the midfield must help Venezia spend more time away from their own defensive third.
