18 of the 32 spaces in the UEFA Europa League knockout stages have already been secured, but what about the remaining 14 spots? Here’s a breakdown of who needs what to secure their place in the next phase of the competition…
Roma, Arsenal, Villarreal and Dinamo Zagreb can all relax as they head into tonight’s final round of Europa League group games, as the four clubs have already confirmed their status as group winners.
Slavia Praha, Leverkusen, Rangers, Benfica, Granada, PSV Eindhoven, Leicester City, Braga, LOSC Lille and AC Milan are also guaranteed to see it through to the knockout stages, but they may still have work to do to ensure they win their group and avoid a team who are exiting the UEFA Champions League (for finishing third in their group) in the next round of the Europa League.
The teams who go into tonight’s games needing a positive result, or relying on others to slip up are CFR Cluj, Young Boys, Molde, Rapid Wien, AZ Alkmaar, Napoli, Real Sociedad, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Sivasspor, Feyenoord and Wolfsberg.
