Juventus are hoping to remain in contention for a trophy this season as they take on Sporting Lisbon in their Europa League quarterfinal first leg.

The Serie A outfit qualified for this stage after a convincing 3-0 aggregate victory against German side Freiburg.

Sporting on the other hand played out two draws against Arsenal and had to beat them on penalties to progress to the last eight.

The Portuguese champions have played 15 games away from home against Italian opponents without winning a single game.

Juve have only previously faced Sporting twice before in Europe: the 2017-18 Champions League group phase saw Juve win 2-1 at home before drawing 1-1 in Portugal.

Sporting have lost only one of their last six games away from home in Europe and have kept an impressive three clean sheets during this period.

Sporting have shown great might as they beat Tottenham and Eintracht Frankfurt on the way to the quarters and are hopeful of a positive result.

The winner of this tie will either face off against Manchester United or Europa kings Sevilla in the semifinals next month.

Can Juventus turn around their two-game winless streak to record a victory here or will the visitors upset them in their home turf?
