Brighton vs Southampton

Pre-Match Summary

Brighton now into fifth with back to back wins of 2-1 over Manchester City and Bournemouth will be hoping of more of the same as they welcome bottom club Southampton to the Amex. Saints where pinching themselves as they went 2-1 in front against Liverpool in the last match only for the reality to set in as they went on to lose 3-2 but they will take some confidence from a good perfomance allthough the result was not what they hoped.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Despite a great performace v Liverpool last week, the facts still point that Saints are bottom of the league and this is a tough ask against a strong Brighton team. Home win.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Nine out of Brightons twelve matches this season has seen Over 2.5 goals, and this game looks like it could be heading the same way.
  • Both Teams to Score: Possiblity, this will more than likely depend on weather or not Saints can make the most of any chances they can create.

Brentford vs Leicester

Pre-Match Summary

Leicester come here on the back of a home defeat to Chelsea and did not look likely to score up until a late penalty goal to see the game end 1-2. While Brentford found it frustrating away to Everton in a game that ended 0-0, Brentford had a man sent off in the first half so will be happy with a point while down to ten men away from home.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Brentford usually do well at home and will fancy their chances in this one, preference is for a Home win.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Five out of Brentfords six home games and also five out of Leicesters six away games have seen Over 2.5 goals.

Newcastles mini win streak came crashing down with a home defeat on Monday night to struggling West Ham and manager Eddie Howe will be looking for a quick turnaround as they visit Palace. The Eagles lead for a long period against Aston Villa last time out only to concede late on and then found themselves holding on towards the end to a vital point.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Newcastle come here as favourites to win but it may not be that simple. Palace are making games for opposition tough and this may end up a Draw.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Palace have now conceded at least two goals in each of their three last games, if that continues we may well see Over 2.5 goals in this one.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes, Allthough Palace have a poor defence and do leak goals they have now started to find the net and could cause Newcastle some problems.

Pre-Match Summary

Its now back to back defeats for Forest after losing 3-0 away to Arsenal last week and 1-3 at home to Newcastle prior to the international break, they now drop to seventh but will be hoping to get back to winning ways here as they welcome Ipswich who sit in the bottom three and are the leagues draw specialist having drawn half of there opening twelve games however they have still only won one league game all season.

Bournemouth remain inconsistent this season and have now slipped to thirteenth in the table after back to back defeats to Brighton last weekend and Brentford previously.

  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: A game in which both teams will feel they can win which should make for an open game with plenty of chances, Over 2.5 goals is likely.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes, both teams do play attacking styles and like to go forward, in addition both sides do have defensive frailties.

West Ham United vs Arsenal

Pre-Match Summary

The Hammers will have confidence going into this after a big away win to Newcastle last weekend, however that was a shock result and this will be a much tougher game. Arsenals win v Forest last weekend was the first league win since early October and Arsenal are now almost back to full strength having had some key players missing through injury they will be wanting to kick on with a win here.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Arsenal are favourites to win this one and its hard to make a case against them getting the points against an inconsistent West Ham team.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: There should certainly be chances for goals in this one, and seven out of the last ten H2Hs have seen Over 2.5 goals.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes, its easy to see an open game taking place here and it is likely to have goals from both sides.

Third placed Chelsea was back to winning ways with an away win over Leicester after previously having back to back draws, they welcome Aston Villa who after an excellent start this season have now dropped off somewhat and have not won in the last four league games with 2D and 2L, that winless run extends to seven including a defeat in the EFL Cup and a draw and a loss in the Champions league too.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: This should be a good game with two very good teams going head to head however preference slightly sways the way of a Home win.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: This fixture is not usually one full of goals historically, and this could be decided by the odd goal. Under 2.5 goals is favourable.
  • Both Teams to Score: What is sure to be a tight game its not a gaurantee there will be many goals, allthough both teams do have good options in attack so dont fully rule it out.

Manchester United vs Everton

Pre-Match Summary

New United manager Ruben Amorim started his reign with a draw away to Ipswich last weekend 1-1, leaving Uinted in the bottom half only three places above todays opponents. Amorim will be hoping for better in his first game in charge at Old Trafford, meanwhile Everton, drew 0-0 at home v Brentford, this is now two 0-0 draws in a row and this was the Toffee’s fifth draw of the season which is the second highest total in the league.

Liverpool vs Manchester City

Pre-Match Summary

A massive game between first and second place and with a gap of already eight points the result of this one is cruical for both teams. City have lost the last three league games and seem to be struggling without key players like Rodri and Ruben Dias, allthough they do welcome back Kevin De Bruyne. Liverpool under new manager Arne Slot have been excellent and will see this as a real opportunity to pull further clear at the top which makes this a super exciting clash.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: This is an evenly matched clash, even with City’s recent poor run this really could swing either way. Perhaps Liverpool will have the edge with the home crowd.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Plenty of attacking talent on display and chances will come regularly in this, Over 2.5 goals has a very solid chance.
