Liverpool remain top of the Premier League after beating title rivals Manchester City 2-0 at Anfield. Liverpool now go a huge eleven points clear at the top and Citys run without a win now extends to seven games in all competitions six of which have been defeats and the other a 3-3 draw with Feyenoord.

City now drop to fifth in the league after wins for both Arsenal (5-2) away to West Ham and Chelsea (3-0) at home to Aston Villa sees them go second and third resepecfully and a draw for Brighton (1-1) with Southampton ensured they stay in the top four.

There was also wins at the weekend for Manchester United (4-0) at home to Everton, Brentford seen off Leicester (3-1) and Nottingham Forest won (1-0) at home to Ipswich and a win also for Bournemouth as they beat Wolves (4-2).

The remaing games ended all square with Crystal Palace v Newcastle and Spurs v Fulham both ending (1-1).

As we head into December and a midweek fixture, there will be further ups and downs and some key games across the league with teams seeking vital points.

We begin on Tuesday and Ipswich go head to head with Crystal Palace at 19.30pm UK time. Both teams go into this having only won a single game each all season. While Leicester who sit only one point above the bottom three host West Ham 20.00pm who will not want a repeat of the 5-2 hammering they suffered to Arsenal on Saturday.

Wednesday we see four games that begin at 19.30pm including Everton v Wolves, Manchester City v Nottingham Forest, Newcastle v Liverpool and Southampton v Chelsea, before Arsenal welcome Manchester United and Aston Villa host Brentford both at 20.15pm.

Finally on Thursday Fulham will play Brighton at Craven Cottage 19.30pm and Borurnemouth play Tottenham at 20.15pm.

Ipswich vs Crystal Palace

Pre-Match Summary

Both these teams still only have the solitary win each, ironically both beating Tottenham, and will see this as a huge opportunity to increase that stat. Strangly both these teams have equal records this season of W1, D6, and L6 and both sit on nine points, only Palace have a slightly better goal difference. Both teams will feel they can win this one and it feels like a six pointer.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Not an easy game to predict and with equal records so far this season this may end up a stalemate. Possible Draw
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Neither side have been firing in goals this season, however both do concede plenty so there may well be a chance of Over 2.5 goals.
  • Both Teams to Score: Possiblity, as both teams do not have reat defences and do tend to leak goals.

Leicester vs West Ham United

Pre-Match Summary

The Foxes come into this after an away defeat to Brentford, however they will be boosted by the arrival of new manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy as he will take charge for the first time. West Ham after securing a good win away to Newcastle a week ago, then showed there inconsistency with a heavy 5-2 defeat at home to Arsenal on Saturday.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Another game in which the result is not so obvious. Perhaps with boost of a new manager and the home crowd Leicester can grab the Home win.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Both these teams have been involved in some lively games this season with plenty of goals. Over 2.5 goals is likely.
  • Both Teams to Score: Eight of the last ten H2Hs have seen both teams on the scoresheet and this again has a strong chance of that happening.

Everton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Pre-Match Summary

Everton have now gone four games without scoring a single goal and that will be a huge concern for manager Sean Dyche going into this despite picking up two 0-0 draws in the games. The Toffee’s welcome a Wolves team who sit in the bottom three however they are scoring goals and with a win her they can not only move out of the bottom three but also jump ahead of Everton.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Everton go in as slight favourites but this will not be as straight forward as that. Wolves will come here in better confidence and an Away win may be a better option.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Everton have not scored a goal in four games and its hard to see where the next goal is coming from. Under 2.5 goals is favourable.
  • Both Teams to Score: This could be a tight game and probably will be a low scoring game, but with both teams having such poor defensive records it possible to see a goal each end.

Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest

Pre-Match Summary

City have now gone seven straight games without a win 6L and 1D, a run which has seen them drop to fifth place and unfamiliar territory for this City team. They will now need to show real charachter to turn things around. Forest beat Ipswich 1-0 at the weekend, a welcome three points after losing two on the spin prior to that.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Despite not winning in seven, its likely this run will come to an end soon, and only one of the losses in that poor run for City was at home, a Home Win is the likely outcome.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: City still remain a threat and have real firepower in front of goal, Forest will be looking to top scorer Chris Wood who is in real good form right now. Over 2.5 goals has a strong chance.
  • Both Teams to Score: It is hard to ignore Citys frailties in recent weeks and this would indicate we may yet again see a game with goals both ends.

Newcastle vs Liverpool

Pre-Match Summary

Historically this is always an exciting game with plenty of drama, and both teams are in good form coming into this, however it is Liverpool at the moment who look unstoppable under Arne Slot. Their record of W11 D1 L1 is unmatched and they are currently eleven points ahead of the leagues closest rivals. Will they be able to continue this remarkable run?

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: This could be set for a great game and Newcastle at home have been pretty solid, however todays opponents Liverpool are a different level this season. Away win is likely.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Should be an open game and could end up being end to end with lots of goal scoring opportunities. Over 2.5 goals has a strong chance.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes, it would be no suprise to see goals at both ends here given the two teams strong attacking options.

Southampton vs Chelsea

Pre-Match Summary

Bottom of the league Saints cant seem to catch a break, after coming from a goal down away to Brighton, the equalised before they thought they had scored a late winner only for VAR to rule it out for offside and the game ended 1-1. Chelsea now joint second with identically record to Arsenal will be hoping to continue their excellent form here as they have only lost one league game in the last twelve.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Southampton just dont seem to be having luck but in addition they are also victims of their own undoing with defensive lapses. Chelsea look in top form and Away win is a solid selection.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: A game in which you may see Chelsea take control, if there attacking line is in the mood we may see Over 2.5 goals.
  • Both Teams to Score: No, Chelsea may dominate this and its hard to see Saints creating many chances even with the home advatage.

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Pre-Match Summary

New United manager Ruben Amorim will be pleased with an unbeaten start an away draw 1-1 with Ipswich followed up with a 4-0 thrashing of Everton on Sunday and United will have a new found confidence soming to the Emirates. Arsenal enjoyed a huge victory away to West Ham 5-2 which seen the Gunners jump into second place.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: A fierce rivalry and a game in which there is always action. If Utd can win here thew would come withing two points of Arsenal, however a Home win is sligthly preferable.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Five of the last six H2Hs have seen Over2.5 goals and this may well be on the cards again inthis one.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes. Likely to be an open game and both teams in good goalscoring form could make for a classic.

Aston Villa vs Brentford

Pre-Match Summary

After starting the season so well Villa have now dropped off somewhat and have not won a game in all competitions in eight games 5L and 3D. While Brentford allthough they ar not totally without their faults they have made steady progress and come into this in better form of the two teams also on the back of a good 3-1 win in the last game over Leicester.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Villa at home go into this as slight favourites but five of the last six H2Hs at Villa Park have ended all square. Perhaps another draw is likely again.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Brentford games this season seem to almost always feature Over 2.5 goals, this should be another good game with two good teams who are capable of netting multiple times.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes. Five of the last six H2Hs have seen both teams scoring.

Fulham vs Brighton

Pre-Match Summary

Fulham in eigth and Brighton in fourth are only seperated by four points, they come face to face here at Craven cottage having both drew their previous games 1-1. Marco Silva will be the happier of the two managers as a the point away to Spurs is big and a good confidence boost where as Brighton failed to beat bottom side Southampton at home and players seemed to look a bit fatigued.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Two closely matched teams and styles, this will be hard to judge but historically it is Fulham who have had the upper hand in H2Hs so perhaps a Home win is marginally prefered.
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Could be a tight game but both teams have goals in them and do like to both be on the front foot so it is easy to envisage Over 2.5 goals in this one.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes. With both teams having strong forward lines and good midfield creativity, we should see a game with plenty of goal opportunities.

Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur

Pre-Match Summary

The Cherrys took three points against Wolves with a 4-2 win at the weekend and oddly scored three penatlies in that game making that five wins for the season and another step forward as they climb to thirteeth. Spurs dropped furher points after being ahead v Fulham only to draw 1-1 and they continue to show this inconsistent form and dont seem to be stringing results together.

Statistical Insight:

  • Home Win/Away Win/Draw: Bournemouth have been good at home and notebaly beat both Arsenal and Man City here, with Spurs not showing consistent form they may claim another big scalp here. Home win
  • Over/Under 2.5 Goals: This could be lively and it is expectant to see a good game with chances. Over 2.5 goals has a good chance.
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes. It is likely we will see goals in this game at both ends with the attacking talent on display.
